Coral is a warm, sunny shade halfway between orange and pink, the colour of a summer cocktail. Beach cafés, ice cream parlours, swimwear labels and summer weddings like it because it feels cheerful without being childish.
Navy is our favourite ink on coral. It's smart and it reads from a distance. White works for bold shapes, and a deep teal or dark brown gives a more unusual pairing. Oranges and pinks sit too close to the bag colour to show properly.
