Which jute bag to choose

Jute bag printing: what works best
Jute is a coarse, open weave, so the ink sits on raised threads rather than a smooth surface. Bold shapes, thick lines and chunky lettering print well. Hairline detail and very small text can break up across the fibres, and we'll flag anything like that when we check your artwork.
- Keep it bold. A simple logo in one or two colours suits jute, and one strong colour often looks the most at home.
- Dark inks on natural jute. Black, navy, deep green and deep red stand out against the tan fibre. White and pale inks look softer, so use them as an accent.
- Dark bags need more thought. On the black, navy, red and graphite grey Classic Jute Bags, most light inks need a white layer printed underneath first. Our guide to printing on dark bags explains why.

Turnaround and delivery
Printed jute bags take our standard 7 to 10 working days from the day you approve your artwork. None of our jute bags are on the express range, because we order them in from the maker for each job. If you need bags from the next working day, the recycled cotton and canvas totes on that page can go express.
Every order goes by DPD Next Day to UK mainland addresses. Delivery is worked out by weight in the basket: from £8.40 + VAT for the first 10kg, then 48p + VAT for each extra kg. Jute bags weigh more than cotton totes, so allow for that on a big run. Working to a date? See delivery and turnaround.

What is the minimum order for printed jute bags?
There's no fixed minimum. Prices on each bag's page start from 25, and you can type any quantity. You can also order a single unprinted sample to check the bag first.
How much do custom jute bags cost?
It depends on the bag, the quantity and the number of print colours. Every bag page shows a live price per bag, and the table above shows the Classic Jute Bag. One colour on one side is the best value, and bigger runs cost less per bag because the screen charge is spread over more bags.
How long does jute bag printing take?
Our standard 7 to 10 working days from approved artwork, then DPD Next Day delivery to UK mainland addresses. Our jute bags aren't on the express range.
Can I order personalised jute bags with different names?
Screen printing puts the same design on every bag, so we can't print a different name on each one. For weddings and events, put every name on one shared design, such as the couple's names and the date. Wedding tote bags
Can you wash jute bags?
Most of our jute bags are sponge clean only, according to their makers. The Boutique Jute Bag is the exception: it can be machine washed warm, inside out. Our wash and care guide has more.
Are jute bags eco friendly?
Jute is a natural plant fibre, generally seen as a low-input crop, and plain jute is biodegradable. Most of our jute bags are laminated inside for strength, so they aren't pure plant fibre; the Unlaminated Jute Bag is plain jute. The greenest bag is the one that gets used for years. Are tote bags sustainable?
