Bright red handles on natural jute have a cheerful, market-stall feel. They catch the eye without covering the whole bag in colour, so the jute still does the talking. Butchers, pizzerias, Christmas markets and sports clubs with red kits often go for this one.
A red ink matched to the handles is the natural pick. Black is a strong alternative, and a red and black two-colour print looks especially good. Keep away from pinks, oranges and anything pale.
