French Navy is dark enough that people sometimes mistake it for black in dim light, with a faint blue-green depth that shows in daylight. It's the grown-up choice. Law firms, estate agents, yacht clubs and corporate events use it because it looks tidy next to a suit and doesn't date.
Light inks are what you want here. White is crisp, pale gold or yellow gives a heritage look, and light blue can be lovely for a subtle tonal print. Anything dark, including red, sinks into the fabric, so keep those for the white or natural version of this bag.
