We can print any of our fabric bags on both sides. If the back has the same design as the front, we reuse the same screens, so the only extra is a print charge on each bag. A different design on the back needs its own screens. Both options are priced live on every bag page.

Why print both sides?

A bag on a shoulder shows one face to the street and the other to whoever is walking behind. Printing both sides means your logo faces out whichever way the bag is carried, hung up or put down on a table.

It also gives you room for two messages. A common layout is the logo on the front and a web address, slogan or event date on the back. That back print can often be a single colour, which keeps the price down.

Designing for two sides

  • Tell us which side is the front. On most of our bags the two faces are the same, so it's your choice. Label it on your artwork.
  • Keep the back simple. A one-colour web address or slogan costs less than a second full logo, and it's easier to read at a glance.
  • Keep the colour count down on a different back. Every ink on the back needs its own screen, even if the same colour is used on the front.
  • Send each side as its own file, or as one PDF with two pages marked front and back. Vector files (PDF, AI or EPS) are best. What is a vector file?
  • Check both sides on your proof. Nothing is printed until you approve it.

Questions people ask

Can you print tote bags on both sides?

Yes, any of our fabric bags, in 1 to 4 colours on each side. Choose Both sides in the configurator on the bag's page and you'll see the price.

How much more does double-sided printing cost?

With the same design on both sides, it adds a print charge on each bag and no extra screen charge. With a different design on the back, you also pay a screen charge for each colour on the back. The tables above show live prices for the same design both sides.

Can the back be in different colours from the front?

Yes. Choose Different design each side, and each side can have its own inks. Each ink on each side needs its own screen.

Does printing both sides take longer?

No. Standard turnaround is 7 to 10 working days from approved artwork, and bags in our express range can be printed from the next working day, on one side or two.

Can each bag have a different name on the back?

No. Screen printing puts the same print on every bag. For weddings, teams and hen parties, one shared design works well, such as every name on one print.
